My front porch spends the hours between 11:00am and 7:30pm in direct sunlight. This made my porch an ideal location to hang laundry.
Also ideal in direct sunlight, assuming there is no laundry hanging in the way?

Not only are sunflowers all kinds of awesome, my lease allows me to have them. Well, it allows me to have plants. I wonder if I’ll get a notice for pots?

The package says it takes 30-50 days to flowering stage. I’ll post pictures every Saturday and we’ll see just what happens.
I forgot to mention that I have never met a plant I couldn’t kill.
I also forgot to mention that this was all Eric’s idea. He reads my blog now and a slight like that would be noticed. Hi Honey!

I have a pot of flowers on my front porch which I planted in January. There is still not a thing coming out.
It is very sad.

I have high hopes for these sunflowers. Maybe I’ll have so many that some can migrate to your porch.

Did you know that Kansas is known as the Sunflower state. And guess what… You guessed it, the sunflower is the state flower.
Also we had some of these growing in our yard this last fall. I think they grow during that time.

I can’t wait to see what happens! I just planted a couple hanging baskets last Saturday, and since I too kill every green thing I touch, I’m a little anxious to see what happens! Good luck with your sunny blooms!

I think I am hoping that announcing my plans to the whole www will make me more inclined to actually water these plants so I have something more than dirt filled pots to show in a few weeks.
I’ll keep you posted. Maybe you can keep me accountable while I attempt to grow these state flowers of Kansas.
