Kim Heinecke posted pictures yesterday of her kids’ attempts to catch a rabbit.
This is Mackenzie yesterday afternoon. She has rigged quite the clever plan to catch a bird. Or a squirrel. Though she really would have preferred a bird, she told me.
She has a satin (polyester blend) sash with a stick tied to the end. The idea was that a bird, or a squirrel, might perch on the end of the stick. I am not sure if this plan came with an exit strategy.

I think she is trying to find the next Ned or Violet.

I love her. I think it is brilliant. Maybe if it was real satin or possibly a silk…
As a person who once had a psycho squirrel trapped in her attic, let me assure Mackenzie that she is correct in prefering a bird

What exactly makes a squirrel psycho, I wonder? Is their life that stressful?
Thank you, Theresa. Happy Mother’s Day to you too!
