A New Friend

May 28, 2008

My kids are getting a little old for blogging daily life details, I think. It was all good and fun when they were toddlers and then pre-schoolers, but I think they are old enough now to have an opinion about what gets put out there about them and it looks like Kenzie is just a few years away from having her own blog. I kid. Kind of.

What’s a girl to do? Who do I exploit for the purpose of blog banter?

Eric saw this problem on the horizon. He knew there was a very real possibility that I just might turn loose on him and start telling you all about what he had for breakfast and give you even more details about his dental trauma.

So he did what any man would do.

He went in search of a dog. A tiny, tiny dog. One that would cock its head to the side just so and listen very intently to any little ol’ thing I might need to say. A dog that would fit in my purse.

This is Charlie.

Charlie is half Scottish Terrier and half Shih Tzu. He fits in my purse (though I really don’t have the nerve to keep him in it for longer than it took to determine he fit there), he thinks it is sooo fabulous when I do dishes, he looooves it when I start dusting, and he is basically the best cheerleader any Homemaker could ask for.

I love me some Charlie.

He has already assured me that I have his full and complete permission to divulge all details of even our most intimate of conversations. He has promised not to roll his eyes and walk away from me if I ask him to pose for a really cute picture that would look sooo great on my blog. Essentially, Charlie has given me full authority with his dignity and I just don’t know what blogger could ask for more from any family member.

Rocco learned to jump fences. Actually lept over them like a deer. Beautiful and tragic all at once.
This puppy is certain to never grow large enough to scale much more than a curb.

Watch out, I have always wanted a teeny, tiny puppy. I have always had huge ones.

    I know where you live.

Awww, what a cute puppy! What a great solution to the “can’t blog about my gradeschool children” problem. :) Such creativity! I look forward to hearing about the life and times of Charlie the super-cute puppy…
