We have some neighbors who are terrified of our dog, Rocco. I have discussed before his Cujo/Odie demeanor, meaning that he has the soul of Odie and the terrifying appearance of Cujo. Personally, I like that about him. I am no formidable opponent but, with Rocco on my team, I have scared groups of grown men to the other side of the street.
Today I purchased a new yard stake so that we can take Rocco into the front yard without any fear of him getting off our property. As I was taking the stake out of its package, Mackenzie asked me what it was. It turns out that the information I gave her was not formed well enough for her to fully understand what I meant.
“Well, Rocco scares some of our neighbors, so I got a stake for him.” I say.
Her eyes got very wide and she shrieked, “So, you’re going to kill him!?”

I hope you were able to reassure her.
Hope the stake works well!
It must’ve been a day for miscommunication…I accidentally called a woman at church an “impatient cow”! I was referencing a family joke, and of course she didn’t let me out of my hole for awhile for calling her a cow =) It was pretty funny though.

Is the dog ok?
It depends on your definition of “okay”. He’s still alive, if that’s what you’re asking.
